AI Agent Development & Engineering · Dubai · Sharjah · UAE · About
An AI consultancy and engineering agency. Fifteen years of production software under everything we ship, across three offices and eight sectors.
Fifteen years of production engineering, applied only where AI earns its place.
WalQalum started fifteen years ago as a software development agency, building web platforms, internal tools and SaaS products for clients across the Gulf and beyond. That work never stopped. What changed is what our clients need built.
Today we are an AI consultancy and engineering agency. We design agents, retrieval systems and automation pipelines, and because we spent fifteen years shipping production software first, we build them the way software should be built: versioned, tested, monitored, owned.
We are deliberately small and senior. Three offices, one engineering culture, no handoffs to a bench you never met.
02 / Leadership
Why we changed — the short version, from the person who signs the work off.
A letter from the Chief Executive

We started out building websites. That is not something to be embarrassed about, and it is not what we do now.
What changed was watching the same thing happen on client after client. A large firm writes the strategy, presents it, and leaves. Someone like us is hired to build it. And then we are the ones who discover — eighteen months late, with the budget spent — that the plan assumed data nobody had, or a process nobody was willing to change.
Nobody was accountable for that gap, because it sat between two contracts. The demo has the same problem in miniature: it proves a model works, not that an organisation can absorb it.
So we stopped taking those projects and started doing both halves ourselves. Fifteen years of production engineering is what lets us finish the second one. That is the whole idea — everything else on this site is detail.

03 / Vision
That is the standard, and it is why we turn down work where AI is the wrong tool. Systems you own, on infrastructure you control, with the team that built them still accountable for them.
04 / Principles
Four commitments we will be held to, including the one that costs us work.
A demo is a hypothesis. We measure ourselves on what runs in production a year later.
We turn down work where AI is the wrong tool. It costs us projects and earns us clients.
Architectures default to your cloud, your keys, your audit trail. Vendor lock-in is a design failure.
The people who scope the work build the work. No bait and switch.
05 / Team

06 / People
Named, because the people who scope the work are the people who build it.

Chief Executive
Ten years building and delivering enterprise web and content platforms. Leads client engagements at board level across the Gulf and Australia.

Chief Technology Officer
Cloud architecture and digital transformation. Owns the technical standard every engagement is delivered against.

Principal, Enterprise Systems
Six-plus years in ERP and core enterprise systems, including recovery of programmes that stalled before completion.

Head of Delivery
Runs the delivery discipline across engagements — scope, sequence, steering, and the honest status report.

Engineering Lead
Five years across Node.js, Java and React. Leads the bench that builds what the advisory team designs.
Admin & Accounts
Operations, contracting and compliance across three jurisdictions.
07 / Work
Every one of these was scoped and built by the people above.
08 / Get in touch
Send us the problem, not a brief. The people who would do the work are the ones who read it.
